Part Time Coach Position

Position: Part-time First Robotics Coach

Reports to: Assistant Principal for Student Affairs

Supervises: Faculty Moderator and First Robotics Mentors

Qualifications include:

  • Previous experience with the First Robotics Competition
  • Understanding of safe practices and experience with shop equipment including: CNC mill, laser engraver, MIG Welding, and other standard equipment

A preferred candidate should possess one or more of the following.

  • Experience with electronic and mechanical configurations of an FRC robot
  • Background in coding with Java, including imagine processing
  • Proficiency in CAD with SolidWorks

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and mentoring of Central Catholic students in the area of First Robotics
  • Coordinate budgets including purchasing and travel
  • Works with faculty moderator to coordinate schedules
  • Coordinate scheduling of practices and First Robotics Competitions
  • Coordinate with Asst. Principal for Student Affairs regarding use of the facility
  • Time commitments include at least weekly sessions with the team during the fall semester with increased time during the winter build season

Live feed will start 10:30am we will be wrapping up by evening

New Schedule

Please note the following schedule changes.

Starting Monday Jan 5, 2015:

Robotics will be meeting Monday thru Thursday 2:32pm till you have to have to leave

Please note that the longer you can stay the more helpful to you and the team as more can get done and more mentors will be able to be there .

Also Meetings will now be held on EVERY Saturday  start and end time are TBD. We will have on Monday the updated times for Saturday as agreed one by the kids and the mentors.

Plan on Saturday being a longer day as more people can work and get things done.

Jan 3rd, 2015, Kickoff Either at Central Catholic High School or Chartiers Valley High School following the kickoff we will be meeting till 5:30 – 6:00pm planning and rule reading

Jan 5th – Feb 17, 2015 Meetings and Building will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday after school if needed Friday, and Saturday starting at 9:30 or 10 am till we run out of steam
